Cancer changes you before treatment starts. The word alone does something to the way you see everything — your time, your body, the people around you, the future you'd been quietly assuming. Whether you're the patient, the survivor, or the person who loves someone going through it, cancer makes everything heavier in ways that are hard to put into words.

The stories here were written by real people navigating diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and loss. Not inspirational survival stories — though those exist too — but honest accounts of the fear, the exhaustion, the complicated feelings that don't fit into the narrative of fighting and winning. Survivorship has its own kind of grief. So does caring for someone who didn't make it.
